FAQ

Coaching is simply solving a non-clinical problem. You know how to be a coach, trust me. I’ll show you the systems.

What Is the Process for Therapy at Clear Life Counseling?

Step 1: Book a Call or Intake

The first step is deciding how you’d like to begin.

You may book a consultation call if you have questions or want help deciding which service is the best fit.

You may also schedule an intake appointment directly if you’re ready to get started.

Appointments can be booked directly through our website, or you can call our office and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Step 2: 90‑Minute Intake Session

We begin with a comprehensive 90‑minute intake session. This session is designed to give us a clear understanding of you—not just your symptoms.

During the intake, we will:

Discuss your main concerns and what led you to seek therapy

Identify your goals and what you hope will change

Explore relevant history and experiences at a pace that feels safe

Gather information you feel comfortable sharing (you are always in control)

Together, we create a life timeline, mapping significant events, relationships, and experiences. This timeline often reveals patterns, themes, and connections that

help explain how past experiences may be contributing to current challenges. It becomes an important reference point throughout our work together.

Step 3:. Choosing the Right Path Forward

After the intake, we collaboratively decide on the best next steps based on your goals, readiness, and support system. There is no one‑size‑fits‑all approach.

Options may include:

Regular Therapy Sessions
These sessions focus on conscious, present‑day work such as:

Building insight and awareness

Developing coping and regulation skills

Addressing current stressors, relationships, and patterns

Preparing for deeper processing when appropriate

Processing Work or Intensives
If appropriate, we may move directly into processing work or schedule a processing intensive. This option is often chosen when:

You are ready to address specific memories or experiences

You want more focused, efficient trauma processing

You are also working with a regular therapist and using our services adjunctively

Processing work is always planned intentionally, paced carefully, and grounded in safety and nervous system regulation.

Step 4: Ongoing Collaboration and Support

Throughout therapy, we regularly check in about what is working, what may need adjustment, and how you are feeling about the process. Therapy remains flexible and responsive to your needs.

Whether you choose ongoing sessions, focused processing, or adjunct services, our goal is to help you move forward with greater clarity, relief, and confidence.

What are regular therapy sessions like?

Individual therapy sessions typically last 50–60 minutes and take place weekly or bi‑weekly.

These sessions provide a consistent space to:

Explore current stressors, emotions, and patterns

Build coping skills and emotional regulation

Process past experiences at a steady, supported pace

Strengthen insight, self‑compassion, and resilience

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your goals. Some weeks may focus on skill‑building or stabilization, while others may involve deeper processing work depending on your needs and readiness.

What are Processing Intensives?

A processing intensive is an extended therapy experience designed to help you work through specific issues in a shorter period of time. Instead of spreading therapy over months, intensives allow for deeper focus over one or multiple days.

Intensives may include:

Extended sessions (2–4 hours)

Focused trauma or memory processing (often using ART or other modalities)

Pre‑ and post‑intensive planning for integration and support

Who are intensives for?

Clients feeling “stuck” in weekly therapy

Those with limited time or upcoming transitions

Individuals wanting focused trauma processing

Clients who have already developed coping and grounding skills

Intensives are not rushed therapy—they are carefully planned, paced, and grounded in safety and nervous system regulation.

What is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART?

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based therapy that helps resolve distressing experiences held in the nervous system.

Rather than focusing on retelling or analyzing the past, ART works with how experiences are stored in the brain and body. Many people notice that emotional reactions, physical tension, or automatic responses begin to shift as the nervous system processes and settles.

ART uses gentle eye movements while you remain fully present, aware, and in control. You are never required to relive painful memories or share more than you are comfortable sharing. The process is collaborative, paced, and guided by your readiness.

Clients often describe ART as calm, contained, and surprisingly effective — allowing meaningful relief without emotional overwhelm or years of talk therapy.

ART does not erase what happened. It helps change how those experiences continue to affect you now, so you can respond with greater clarity, steadiness, and ease.

What are adjunct therapy services

Adjunct therapy means working with us specifically for processing work, while you continue seeing your regular therapist for ongoing support, not instead of them. This option is ideal if you have a trusted ongoing therapist and want specialized support for processing specific experiences.

How adjunct therapy works:

You continue seeing your primary therapist for ongoing support

We focus specifically on processing (e.g., trauma, memories, blocks)

Care is coordinated with your therapist when appropriate and with your consent

the majority of services typically include ART processing intensives.

Adjunct therapy allows you to benefit from specialized approaches while maintaining continuity and safety in your existing therapeutic relationship.
